A large boxy building in a 1970s strip mall, next to a pizza place, off of. It isn’t much to look at from the outside. Even if you’re not a serious gamer, spending an afternoon at the arcade is one of the best cheap things to do in Montreal, one of the best things to do with kids in Montreal, and (we think) they sometimes figure in as some of the city’s best bars, too. The future of gaming promises to be exciting, but old-school arcades don’t look like they’ll be going out of style anytime soon, with coin-operated pinball games, skeeball lanes and every arcade machine imaginable found throughout town (and that includes where you can go bowling in Montreal too). But whats worse is that the characters from the pinball game have entered the real. Olsons warning, Ross plays the game, loses track of the time, and gets locked inside the mall after closing. Every flipper, bumper, sound effect, and display pixel has been painstakingly emulated in astonishing detail The Pinball Arcade is available for most game consoles, mobile phones, and tablet computers, including the iPhone, iPad. Ive only been there twice, but this really pisses me off. The Pinball Arcade features exact recreations of some of the all-time greatest pinball tables. Geeking out and having fun has now emerged as part of the cultural zeitgeist right now, and Montreal arcades have never been better for old fashioned fun. Olson asks Ross to watch after the store while he is at lunch and tells him specifically to not touch the pinball machine in the back. Pinball Wizard Arcade in Pelham NH closing and needs to sell inventory. Support who you can, and make sure to tip generously if you're hitting the barcades! While things continue to gradually reopen in the city, be sure to check to see if something is open before heading out. Those that remain, however, are coming back stronger than ever and we won't be shocked to see new names come up in the future. UPDATE, July 22 2021: The last year and change has been enormously hard on the best arcades in Montreal, and several spots-including Hangar 51 and the downtown location for Amusement 2000-have had to close up shop for good.
